Party Rock Tour: I’m In Pittsburgh Bitch
It was almost 5 p.m. when most of us woke up on the Party Rock bus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania today.
Q and Izzy discovered that an eatery down the street from the venue had the entire Party Rock album on their juke box. How cool is that?
Back at the hotel, Nikole and I sat down to a feast at the Fish Market. We ran into Reek who was flying solo, eating an $85 meal.
The venue, Diesel, was probably the smallest one we played on the tour, but it was one of my personal favorites. The crowd was an interesting mix of fans that looked like they belonged at a Nirvana concert, 14-year-old boys in the front row, a middle-aged dude with a fro in the middle and dolled-up girls on the upper level. One of my favorite things about tonight’s crowd was that there was an overwhelming number of fans over 30. It’s great to see that Party Rock transcends the college party crowd stereotype--it’s something to be enjoyed by party animals of all ages.
We stayed at Diesel for an unplanned afterparty that ended up being a great time. Pete poured us shots of Goose, Q tried his hardest to stick to his goal (of not hooking up for an entire week) and Far East Movement, Shwayze and Space Cowboy partied with us, as well. I said I was only going to stay for a few minutes, but couldn’t resist closing down the place because the DJ was spinning all of my Biggie jams, in addition to LMFAO remixes.
The Party Rock Crew is back at our hotel, the Westin, which is one of the most amazing hotels I’ve ever stayed in--there are not one, but two shower heads. Nikole, Jason Smith and I were eating room service when we heard a violent banging on the door connecting our room to the room next to us. We banged back and the person started slowly knocking. We went back and forth for awhile before busting through the door and realizing it was none other than our stage manager, Frank! We’re starting our own little party between rooms.
We leave in a few hours for State College, PA. Hope Penn State is ready to Party Rock as hard as the Burgh!
