Party Rock Tour: I’m Up at Yale Bitch

Today, we had the pleasure of reading a hilarious and clever rebuttal to our latest blog post from LA Weekly. Foo equates the writer, Gustavo Turner, to the tough guy in school.

“You know how there’s always a tough guy in school that you feud with...then you become best friends with them? That’s how I see my future with the writer[s] from LA Weekly,” Foo said. “I’d like to meet them in LA at the KIIS FM Jingle Ball this Saturday [December 5]...it’s all in good fun.”

We had a good laugh at the picture of Foo that they chose (and the caption, “our friend, Stefan Gordy.”) Priceless. By the way, thanks for my shout-out!

The piece did end on a classy and respectful note by providing an eloquent quote from Momfoo, as well as a nod to Foo’s father (and Sky’s grandfather) Berry Gordy’s Motown legacy.

Briefly rewinding to last night, Foo, Party Rock model/merch guy Daniel and I were treated to dinner at an Italian restaurant by Bikini Girl Nikole’s parents, who live here in New Haven, Connecticut. They were a riot, telling Foo he had a tight ass and getting pumped up to do shots of Patron. Imagine my surprise when one of our managers, Rene McLean, strolled in with one of my favorite people of all time, booking agent Johnny Maroney.

It was at dinner that Foo read a Facebook comment congratulating him on the Grammy nomination.

“Are we really up for a Grammy?” he asked.

Sure enough, they are. LMFAO was nominated for Best Electronica/Dance album. It was amazing and well-deserved news to receive during the Party Rock Tour. I am so proud of the boys and our entire Party Rock family.

Today, Foo did two phone interviews, including one with the Charlotte Observer. They talked about the Grammy nomination and the upcoming tour with the Black Eyed Peas, but my favorite part of the interview was this: “We’re like a big family, so we hire our friends,” Foo said. “Like, Elle, for example...she was a straggler we met in New York.” Classic.

During the interview, a maid came into the room. After Foo told her that we didn’t need housekeeping, she excitedly asked if he was in a band. Later, when I left the room, she stopped me to tell me that “La La La” was her favorite song and music video.

Tonight’s show took place at Toad’s Place, right down the road from Yale. It was a blast, despite the ceiling leak raining down on me on the side of the stage.

It was an all ages show, but it seemed like the majority of the crowd consisted of college students. They went crazy when they boys said, “I’m up at Yale, bitch!”

There was a tiny mishap (Sky poured the holy Goose in Foo’s eyes during “Party Rock Church”, so he was blinded for most of “Boom Boom Pow”), but the show was one of the best in the northeast.

Nikole’s parents, Gary and Robin, were cheering on her ass-shaking while representing

in our Party Rock Gear--dad rocked an I’m In Miami Bitch shirt while mom wore an I Am Not A Whore shirt.

We just had a mini-afterparty on the bus and now, it’s 3 a.m. and we’re off to my city, New York!

P.S. Pictured below are things I found in the washer after doing Foo’s laundry...the essentials: thin Magnum condoms, a Sharpie and Canadian money.
