Party Rock Tour Kick-off: We’re Up In Reno Bitch
Last night, LMFAO kicked off the Party Rock Tour on the world’s largest stage. The Theater at the Grand Sierra in Reno, Nevada was packed to capacity with screaming fans waving glowsticks and reaching out to grab Foo and Sky’s legs. At one point, a fan in the audience actually removed one of Foo’s shoes.
Almost half the audience was decked out in Party Rock gear, rocking Hey! and I Am Not A Whore shirts.
It was the first time the fans got to see LMFAO perform the entire Party Rock album. The boys got the audience pumped up with “Rock the Beat” before launching into “I’m Up In Reno Bitch”, the rest of the songs from the album and their remixes of “Love Lockdown” and “Boom Boom Pow.”
There were lots of hilarious moments, such as Sky’s passionate performance of “Leaving U 4 the Groove,” during which he threw off his sneakers and fell to the ground, but the highlight of the night had to be Foo’s pelvic thrust into a blow-up doll, which sent the doll flying across the stage. You’re missing out if you don’t get to witness the “I Shake, I Move” performance during the Party Rock Tour. It’s great music-meets-stand-up comedy.
The show ended appropriately with “Yes.” The whole audience was onstage, dancing around and singing along to every word. Far East Movement and Shwayze even joined everyone, belting out the lyrics. In true LMFAO style, it was a crazy party onstage.
We took the party to the Xtreme Sports Bar in the Grand Sierra, where Foo and Shwayze teamed up for an unexpected and amazing performance on the drums. The crowd went crazy. Later, Pistol Pete joined Shwayze’s DJ and the resident DJ to perform “Shots.”
Q really kept the party going up in Reek’s room, ordering a bottle of Patron. His pants came off as everyone did shots. Reek, our new bikini girl, Nicole, Pistol Pete, Canada’s Hollywood Hype (who is with us on tour) and I showed the Reno natives that busted into the room at 3 a.m. some Party Rock hospitality.
We got to sleep for thirty minutes before Ian Fletcher pounded down the hotel door like the police. It was off to the bus at 4 a.m. to head to Vegas.
We’re so happy to welcome our bikini girl contest winner, Nicole, to the tour. She did an amazing job holding it down onstage and has been a trooper on the tour bus.
